Church of St. Wenceslas and Local History

Cetoraz combines an impressive local history with a landscape shaped by ponds and forest paths. Particularly characteristic is the Church of St. Wenceslas with its rectory and grounds, which are protected as a listed monument in Cetoraz. It is located on a slight rise at the eastern end of the village, on the road near the village square.

The originally Gothic church was built in Cetoraz in 1350. It includes the older Václav bell, which was made in 1512. A stone tomb slab bearing the Brady–Deym alliance coat of arms is built into this niche. The combination of architectural form, date and coat of arms makes the crypt an independent cultural and historical detail within the village.

Another religious sight is located in Jánsku in Cetoraz: a chapel dedicated to St. John of Nepomuk stands there. Together with St. Wenceslas and the Deym crypt, it creates a varied picture of the local ecclesiastical architecture, which differs from the pond and forest landscape. The ecclesiastical architecture ranges from the originally Gothic church through the Classicist crypt to the chapel of St. John of Nepomuk.
