With a Baroque village-square chapel, two wayside shrines of different designs, and a modern replica of the Pech memorial stone, Krasíkovice offers several concrete points of interest for culture lovers. Two routes add different kinds of route information: a total distance and a kilometer marker with the route continuing from there.

The village-square chapel: Baroque and hexagonal

The Baroque chapel dates from the 18th century and has been preserved in its original form. Its unusual hexagonal floor plan describes the basic shape of the building; the tent roof is crowned by an open polygonal lantern. “Polygonal” means having several sides and makes the roof structure recognizable as a distinct design element. Since 1958, the chapel has been protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. This makes it possible to distinguish the date of construction, the preserved form, and the protected status of a single building: the 18th century refers to the historical period, while 1958 marks the start of monument protection.

Two wayside shrines with distinct designs and dates

A substantial masonry wayside shrine dates from around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries and contributes to the character of the rural landscape. A stone column shrine stands in the southeastern part of Krasíkovice; it is believed to date from the 18th century. The two thus differ not only in their design: one date points approximately to the transition from the 18th to the 19th century, while the dating of the column shrine is explicitly tentative.

A modern replica beside a country lane

The replica of the Pech memorial stone is a more recent landmark: it was installed in the summer of 2020 southwest of Krasíkovice, beside a country lane. The date refers to the installation of the modern replica and can be distinguished from the dates given for the chapel and wayside shrines. Visitors interested in the different historical periods can therefore consider the Baroque architecture, the wayside shrines with their different dates, and the more recent memorial stone as separate points of interest.

Two routes, different points of reference

The Pelhřimov Ring II circular route is 47.5 kilometers long and passes through Krasíkovice. On the Želivský Circuit, the route reaches the village at kilometer 32 and then follows the red trail to a hill between Krasíkovice and Radětín. The numbers describe different things: 47.5 kilometers is the total length of the circular route, while kilometer 32 marks a point along the Želivský Circuit. When planning your trip, you can therefore decide whether the total distance of a circular route or the described section and its continuation offers the more suitable point of reference.

A walk and accommodation planning

After a few steps along the walking path, you reach Kapří farma (Poříčský dvůr), where refreshments are available. When looking for a hotel in Krasíkovice, you can first decide what you want to focus on: the buildings or planning a route. The walking path adds a specific stop to these considerations.
