Vystrčenovice – Cycling, Nature and Small Cultural Monuments

Cycling between Telč and Jaroměřice

Cycling route 5125 connects Telč and Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou and is 39 kilometres long. Since it passes through Vystrčenovice, the village is part of its route. The local hiking and cycling routes are also connected to a dense network of other paths and routes. Tourism in Vystrčenovice is primarily focused on cycling tourism.

Chapel, Wayside Shrines and the History of the Mill

The Chapel of the Holy Cross was founded in 1708 by Leypold, provost of the Premonstratensian canon collegiate chapter of Nová Říše. It stands in an outlying location within the municipal area of Vystrčenovice; a hermitage existed by the chapel in 1728. The building was extensively reconstructed in 2003 and 2004. At the same time, the local history reaches back to 1696, when Vystrčenovice was destroyed by fire. Historically, the village was under the ecclesiastical and educational administration of Nová Říše and had always belonged to the monastery there.

The only designated cultural monument recorded in Vystrčenovice is a wayside shrine; its ÚSKP registration number is 34186/7-5431. In addition, about 100 metres east of the village, a brick Baroque wayside shrine dating from 1773 stands in a wooded area. The municipality erected it in memory of those who fell in the war. Another small historic monument worth mentioning is a cast-iron cross with a stone base.

Brázdův Mill also adds to the historic character of the area. Its foundation near Vystrčenovice dates back to around 1700 and was carried out by the Premonstratensian monastery in Nová Říše. After it ceased to be used for milling in the 1940s, it later served as a sawmill. The mill is currently used for residential purposes and is not open to the public; it is therefore not a public attraction.
