Lavičky combines village religious buildings, living traditions, and several marked trails into a destination with clear cultural highlights. The focal points are the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk, the Church of Saint Zdislava, and the Závist district with its historic bell tower. In addition, hiking routes, a cycling route, and documented events offer different ways to experience the area.

Culture in the Village Center and in Závist

The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk, with its bell tower, stands on the village square in Lavičky and forms part of the central village area. As an immovable cultural monument, it is not only a distinctive landmark but also preserves noteworthy details: inside are a stone altar and a polychrome statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. This provides a concrete glimpse into the village's religious history during a brief cultural stop.

A second focal point is the Church of Saint Zdislava in Lavičky. The modern church building was constructed between 1991 and 1994 and has an interior wooden structure. Its history is also remarkable: local residents built the church with 13,000 hours of unpaid labor. On May 25, 1996, it was consecrated as the world's first church dedicated to Saint Zdislava.

In the Závist district, the bell tower stands at the center of the district on road III/0026. It is listed as a cultural monument under registration number 25090/7-4190 and has been preserved in its historic form. The tower can still be used during the municipality's May devotions and pilgrimage services. Thus, monument preservation, a preserved architectural form, and present-day community tradition come together in one place.

Hiking and Cycling with Different Route Options

The trails around Lavičky allow you to plan your day in different ways. A marked hiking route leads from Velký Netínský rybník via Závist and Lavičky to Velké Meziříčí. Its course connects the starting point at the pond with the two districts and then continues toward the town. This makes it possible to experience Lavičky as part of a longer hiking route rather than viewing it only as an individual sightseeing destination.

The “In the Footsteps of Pilgrims” route is considered a half-day tour for hikers, cyclists, and families with small children. It leads from Velké Meziříčí via Lavičky and Závist to Netín and back. For planning your day, this route is particularly straightforward: the tour connects these places in an out-and-back journey and is not assigned exclusively to a single mode of transport.

Cyclists can also find a dedicated connection through the region. The “Along the Path of Literary Creators” cycling route passes through Lavičky and Závist, continues past ponds, and leads on to Netín. Compared with the marked hiking route to Velké Meziříčí, it therefore focuses on something different and complements the walking trails with a route connecting Lavičky and Závist to additional pond landscapes.

Tradition and Reasons to Visit

The traditional Lavičská pouť is also part of the area's local character. It took place in Lavičky from May 22 to 24, 2026, beginning at the local festival grounds with an open-air film screening. As a past event, it shows how cultural tradition and community programming are combined in the village, without allowing a future event date to be inferred from it.

When looking for a hotel in Lavičky, you can therefore organize your stay according to your preferred focus: the religious buildings in the village, the bell tower in Závist, or one of the documented routes extending beyond Lavičky.

You can also find out more about Bukov, Dlouhé, Prosetín, Tasov, Březské, Dolní Heřmanice, Moravecké Pavlovice and Brezi Nad Oslavou.
