Rýzmburk was inhabited and used for approximately 250 years, from the mid-13th century until the beginning of the 16th century. Osek is also home to the Church of St Peter and Paul. It has been a cultural monument of the Czech Republic since 1964. The present Baroque church was built as a completely new structure between 1751 and 1755.

The “Přírodou a dějinami Oseka” Nature Trail

For a more detailed combination of landscapes and local history, the “Přírodou a dějinami Oseka” nature trail is an excellent choice. The loop trail is 14 km long and begins and ends at the memorial to the Nelson mine disaster. Along its route, the nature trail leads to the Salesiova výšina natural monument. Having a designated starting and ending point makes orientation easier when planning, while its length makes the loop trail a stand-alone activity during a stay in Osek.
