Discover Meziboří in the Ore Mountains
Meziboří lies on the slopes of the Ore Mountains at an elevation of 550 metres above sea level and is surrounded by forest on all sides. Loučenská hornatina Nature Park also extends into the administrative area of Meziboří. The elevation, forest and nature park therefore shape the landscape around the town and offer various ways to experience a stay in the Czech Republic.
Forest and the Lípy v Meziboří group of trees
One of the distinctive natural features is the Lípy v Meziboří group of trees. It consists of two small-leaved limes (Tilia cordata). Different-sized protection zones have been designated for the two trees: Tree 1 is protected by a circle with a radius of 12 metres, while Tree 2 is protected by a circle with a radius of 10 metres. The group of trees stands on Okružní and Potoční streets. Its precise location connects the two trees with a specific point of reference within Meziboří, while the different radii mark two separate protected areas.
Tesařova cesta through the landscape
Tesařova cesta begins in Meziboří at the stadium and follows the slope of Studenec towards Šumný důl. It then runs through Pekelské údolí to a game reserve. Thanks to its well-maintained surface, it is suitable for hiking and cycling. Numerous educational panels cover the geological development of the Ore Mountains as well as plants, animals, bodies of water and the local population. The trail therefore combines a route through hillside and valley landscapes with topics relating to nature, geology and regional life.
The sequence from the stadium via the slope of Studenec and Pekelské údolí to the game reserve helps with orientation along the route. Together with the well-maintained surface, it connects a clear starting point, different landscape areas and the game reserve as its destination.
Ski lift and sports facilities
The Meziboří ski area has a public ski lift and downhill runs. The downhill runs are open while the ski lift is operating. For a stay focused on winter activities, this timing is important when planning a visit to the ski area. Local sports facilities also include a ski slope, two football stadiums, tennis courts and a sports hall. The range therefore extends beyond winter sports and covers various sports in the town. The individual facilities represent different forms of physical activity: the ski lift and downhill runs belong to the winter sports area, while the football stadiums, tennis courts and sports hall cover other sports.
