Bílichov: Nature, Local History and Special Discoveries

Bílichov combines a distinctive forest landscape with local history, nature observation and experiences for different interests. Forests and the Bílichovské údolí

Forests surround Bílichov in a horseshoe shape to the north, west and south. The Bílichovské údolí was formed by headward erosion. Most of the cadastral area of Bílichov lies on the southeastern side of the Džbán Nature Park. The animal and plant life also makes the valley noteworthy. Particularly protected species in the Bílichovské údolí include the red squirrel, stock dove and alpine newt. The Bílichovské údolí is also home to the richest population of black false hellebore (Veratrum nigrum) in the Czech Republic; it comprises approximately 5,000 specimens. The forests of Bílichov invite you to go for walks and collect mushrooms.

Chapel of St. Wenceslas in the village

The Chapel of St. Wenceslas stands in the eastern part of Bílichov on slightly elevated ground above the village square. It is a stone-built structure with a rectangular floor plan and a semicircular-ended presbytery. For visitors interested in regional architectural history, it is therefore one of the village's distinct cultural points of interest.

Discoveries with children and by the water

The children's area in Bílichov combines educational and play elements. These include, among other things, a knowledge tower, a jumping pit, an acoustic memory game, a dendrophone, a tree house, a spinning game, educational bodies, a waste-separation station, a frontage lectern and an observation station with a model. This allows you to combine nature themes and playful stations when planning your day. The Velký Bílichovský rybník is used by local anglers.

Local events

The Bílichovský Masopust includes a procession through the village with music, dancing, singing and competitions. This is followed by a musical gathering with refreshments at the cultural center. For 2026, the Bílichovská bludička was also announced as a gathering of historic cars and motorcycles, taking place on August 22 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If your travel planning is focused on village life and special dates, these events are a separate consideration when choosing the period of your stay.
