Malá Roudka amid forests, trails and rural village character

Malá Roudka was founded as an essentially forest-oriented linear village with a linear street layout. The houses and farmsteads line this street. The village character is predominantly shaped by rural farmsteads with one above-ground storey. The predominantly single-storey farmsteads give the built-up area a low-rise, rural character. The street layout and farmstead structure are therefore among the visible features of the village.

Hiking, cycling and cross-country skiing when conditions permit

The terrain around Malá Roudka is suitable for hiking and cycling. Cross-country skiing is also possible when snow conditions are suitable; this option explicitly depends on the snow cover. The forests around Malá Roudka also offer opportunities for mushroom picking. Thus, in addition to trails for walking and cycling, the area offers a seasonally limited winter sports opportunity and a nature-oriented foraging experience.

A local route runs along the Jevíčka stream, also called Bitýška here, between the slopes of Kadlice and Bzovice or Na Skalici to Bezděčí. Both names refer to the same watercourse in this section. From Bzovice, the same route follows the stream back to Malá Roudka.

There are also two differently designed options for a cycling tour. The marked cycling route 5146 leads from Letovice to Velké Opatovice and runs along roads in Malá Roudka. The “Okolo Malé Hané” cycling trip is approximately 35 kilometres long and starts and ends at the recreational area in Skočova Lhota. While the cycling route connects two places, the trip has its fixed starting and finishing point there.

Kadlice, Kamenná svatba and regional traditions

Beside the road from Malá Roudka to Svárov, the remains of several mining facilities are clearly visible at Kadlice. Kadlice is also associated with a regional mining and stonecutting tradition. The visible facilities and the inherited history of work are therefore connected here with mining and stonecutting.

You can reach Kamenná svatba either via the red hiking trail from Velká Roudka or via a path that branches south from the road from Malá Roudka at the edge of Svárov. Access is therefore available via a path from the direction of Velká Roudka and via a turnoff on the road near Svárov.

Beer festivals have been held annually in mid-July in the cultural area of Skočova Lhota since 1991. At the “Sportovně kulturní areál” complex, you can reserve a football pitch and a tennis court. Thus, in addition to the trails and historical traces, recurring events and two specific sports facilities are also part of the surroundings of Malá Roudka.
