Lhota U Lysic

Lhota u Lysic combines a clearly recognizable historic village character with a forested setting in the Lysicko Nature Park. The village lies on the left bank of the Lysický potok and at the eastern foot of Na Stráži hill; at the same time, it is surrounded by forests. Its first documented mention dates from 1351. If you would like to combine history, nature and routes for your own explorations when planning your trip, the village offers several different points of interest for this purpose.

Historic Village Center and Rural Features

Lhota u Lysic developed as a circular village at the end of the road from Lysice. The wooden log houses were gradually arranged in a horseshoe shape, as is characteristic of this type of village. The village square is referred to as the medieval and modern-era center of Lhota u Lysic. A small bell tower stands on the former village square.

The history of the village also includes several smaller memorial features. The wayside cross at the crossroads in Lhota u Lysic bears an inscription with the year 1851. The cross at U Jonášových was erected in 1874 and most recently restored in 2011. A marble cross was erected next to the chapel in 1938 and restored in 1996 and 2011. The pilgrimage festival in honor of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is celebrated on August 15.

Forest Landscape and the Žižkův stůl Nature Monument

The Žižkův stůl Nature Monument lies southwest of Lhota u Lysic within its cadastral territory. It is a geomorphologically significant site and an example of periglacial landforms. The nature monument includes 23 hectares of natural deciduous forest with lush herbaceous undergrowth. This provides a distinctly different landscape character alongside the built-up village center, which you can take into account when planning your excursions.

Hiking and Cycling on the Village Outskirts

For hiking, two marked routes run along different edges of the cadastral territory of Lhota u Lysic. A red-marked hiking route runs near the southwestern cadastral boundary of Lhota u Lysic. A blue-marked long-distance hiking route runs along the western edge of the cadastral territory; Lhota u Lysic is connected to it via Road III/3763 or a forest path.

Several routes are also documented for cycling. Cycle Route 5145 runs through Lhota u Lysic along the Petrov–Rozseč–Hluboké u Kunštátu–Lhota u Lysic–Lysice route. Cycle Route 5144 runs along the western edge of the cadastral territory, while Cycle Route 5143 runs along its southern boundary. This allows you to distinguish between a route through the village and routes along the outlying areas when planning your day.
