Predni Vyton: Water, Nature and History
Predni Vyton is a destination for travelers who want to combine water, landscapes, activity and history in a single stay. The town offers a beach with shallow access to the water and a boat rental service. The setting is complemented by the Svatý Tomáš natural monument, a cycle path with several stops, churches and the prominent Vítkův Kámen watchtower. This gives you a choice of different ideas for day trips.
A natural area with its own character
The Svatý Tomáš natural monument extends across the cadastral areas of Pasečná and Přední Výtoň. It protects remnants of a montane mixed forest and scree forest. The combination of a clearly defined landscape area and protected woodland gives the natural side of the destination its own character.
Lindový vrch and Vítkův Kámen are mountains in the vicinity of Přední Výtoň. Hirschenstein and Hintzing are mountains in the area around Přední Výtoň. Together with the natural monument, these four mountains broaden the view of the landscape around Přední Výtoň.
Water and cycling
The local beach in Přední Výtoň has shallow access to the water. Boat rental is also available in Přední Výtoň. The beach therefore represents a specific place to spend time on the shore, while the boat rental opens up another activity on the water.
For cyclists, the Svatotomášským pohořím cycle path starts and ends in Přední Výtoň. It runs via Spáleniště, Pasečná, Koranda, Svatý Tomáš, Vítkův Kámen, Mírová cesta and Frýdava.
Churches, watchtower and views
The Church of Saint Philip and Saint James is a Neo-Gothic parish church. It was founded in 1384 and restored in the 1990s. The Gothic Church of Božího těla also stands in the settlement of Svatý Tomáš; it was founded in 1348 by Petr I. z Rožmberka. This means you will encounter two churches with different stylistic and historical details.
Vítkův Kámen is a watchtower probably founded around 1250 by Vítek z Načeradce on Svatotomášský vrch (1,053 m). The 25-meter-high tower of Vítkův Kámen has an observation terrace with views in all directions. Here, a historic site, a mountain setting and panoramic views come together to create a particularly striking cultural destination.
Haslach Parish Church is a church in the area around Přední Výtoň. In the wider regional area are Breitenstein, a castle, Lobenstein Ruins, a ruin, and Neuhaus Castle, a chateau. The cultural selection thus extends beyond individual religious buildings and includes various forms of historic destinations.
A special local connection is represented by the melody and two verses of the Christmas carol and lullaby Heidschi Bumbeitschi (Hajčí bumbajčí). They originated in the former municipality of Heuraffel, later Přední Výtoň.
When choosing accommodation in Predni Vyton, you can proceed according to the focus you want for your stay: water, nature, cycling or historical discoveries each set different priorities for planning your days.
