A marked yellow hiking trail passes through Dolní Novosedly. Cyclists can plan to use Cycling Route 2: on its return journey to Písek, it passes through Dolní Novosedly. The route is 34 km long, moderately difficult, and suitable for mountain bikes and trekking bikes. Its length and rating provide clear guidance for planning an independent cycling tour. The different types of bicycles also show that the route is not limited to just one type of cycling. Together with the yellow hiking trail, this provides two differently designed ways to explore the surrounding area. Recreational fishing is also available at Podhorák Pond, so alongside hiking and cycling, a quieter activity by the water is also part of the village's character.

Village Green, Rural Baroque and Memorial Crosses

There is a chapel on the village green in Dolní Novosedly. On the northeastern side, Farmstead No. 1 occupies a prominent position. The detached rural ensemble consists of single-storey buildings arranged in a horseshoe shape around an irregular courtyard. House No. 1 is a building in the typical South Bohemian Rural Baroque style, dating from 1800. This brings together a chapel and a historic farm ensemble with clearly describable architecture in one place. The form of the ensemble is defined by several specific details: the buildings are single-storey, the courtyard is irregular, and the arrangement forms a horseshoe. The local culture of remembrance also includes a total of eight memorial crosses of varying designs. Most date from the 19th century; some were probably used to mark road junctions.

Historical Features and Practical Information

In the center of Dolní Novosedly, the former Kolářík inn stands by the road. The building is decorated with murals inside and out. It is currently used for recreational purposes and is not open to the public. Nevertheless, its location in the center and by the road makes it a defining part of the village's character. For travel outside the village, there are bus connections to Písek and Záhoří. These connections complement the options for active days and visits to the village's distinctive features by making it possible to include other places in the surrounding area in your plans. The bus connections to Písek and Záhoří are useful on days when you would like to include places other than Dolní Novosedly in your itinerary. Another facility is the Provazce sports and hunting shooting range at Dolní Novosedly 53. It has separate shotgun and rifle ranges. The complex can be rented for private events.
