Chotoviny: Cultural History and Landscape

Chotoviny Castle acquired its Neo-Romanesque appearance through Baron Nádherný. The Chotoviny castle park was laid out by Baron Nádherný in the first half of the 19th century and covers 22.5 hectares. Due to its high dendrological value, it is classified as a Category I monument. The park thus combines historic design with the special significance of its tree collection. Its size makes it an independent focal point within the townscape, while the castle provides the architectural connection to it.

The religious buildings also complement the townscape. The Church of St. Peter and Paul in Chotoviny was rebuilt between 1781 and 1786; its tower was added during this period. The Church of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church in Chotoviny was completed in 1924.
