Černěves combines village character with a remarkable history and the protected Libějovicko-Lomecko cultural landscape. The picturesque village has a pond and a chapel in the center. This brings a connection with nature and local history together at a manageable central point. At the same time, the “Libějovické zámky” route passes through Černěves and creates a connection to the landscape between Netolice and Vodňany. For families looking for a smaller place with cultural and landscape themes, there are different focal points: taking in the village character, making a cultural stop, or going on an outing along the route. This combination can be weighted differently depending on the age and interests of those traveling together.

Chapel and History in the Village Center

The Kaple sv. Antonína is located in the village center. It was built in 1827 and is a central-plan building with a square ground plan, crowned by an onion dome with a lantern. Its clear form and design make it a distinctive architectural feature of Černěves. The village was first mentioned in writing in 1401; another written record dates from 1458. These two historical dates connect today’s village center with a local history stretching back over centuries. The building and the history of the village are therefore directly connected.

Libějovicko-Lomecko and the Surroundings

Černěves belongs to the protected Libějovicko-Lomecko cultural landscape zone, which has been protected since July 1, 1996. Libějovicko-Lomecko is a Baroque, designed landscape with architectural landmarks between Netolice and Vodňany. Along the road from Libějovice to Černěves stand the Boží muka Nejsvětější Trojice. For orientation within the landscape, it is also important to know that Mount Mužský and Mount Zdoba are located near Černěves. The wider regional area also includes Mount Skalka, Mount Vrata, the ancient site of Chlumany, and the Svatý Jan Church. The surroundings thus extend from the village center to regional cultural and landscape destinations. Depending on your preferred focus, you can center your visit on the village center, the cultural landscape, or the wider regional surroundings.

The Route through Černěves

The “Libějovické zámky” route is 14.5 km long and passes through Černěves. Its length provides a concrete indication for planning your own outing. You can therefore decide whether to make the route the focus of a day involving a longer excursion or combine it with a visit to the chapel and the cultural landscape. The pond is also part of the village’s overall character and creates a different accent from historical or landscape exploration. When looking for accommodation, this makes it easier to define the desired type of stay without presupposing any characteristics of individual accommodations.
