Hajany – Village Green, Art and Landscape
Accommodation in Hajany
Hajany between the Village Green and the Landscape
Hajany combines village history, art and landscape. At its heart are the well-maintained village green with the Chapel of Saint Anne, a gallery that can be visited by personal arrangement, cycling connections, and paths and viewpoints between pastures, meadows and forests. This allows you to focus on different priorities when looking for accommodation: cultural discoveries in the village, excursions by bike or observing the surrounding landscape.
Village Green, Chapel and Gallery
The present-day Chapel of Saint Anne characterizes Hajany’s well-maintained village green. The municipality of Hajany had it built in 1900 to replace an older small masonry chapel on the village green; in front of it stands an artistically crafted stone cross from 1859.
Another special feature is the gallery of the painter Ladislav Maria Wagner in Hajany. It can be visited by prior telephone arrangement. Wagner lives and works permanently in the South Bohemian village of Hajany. This gives you access to a cultural stop whose visit requires a specific arrangement and which at the same time remains closely connected with the village.
Cycling Routes and Destinations around Hajany
One of the cycling routes from Blatná runs through the center of Hajany. In addition, you can reach Lnáře from Hajany via the road and cycle route 31. These two details help put the location into perspective: you can include Hajany in your excursion planning both via a cycling route through the center and via a specific connection towards Lnáře. Travel times and distances are not specified, but the existing routes provide different starting points for planning your day.
Landscape, Animals and Points of Interest
There is also something to discover within the village itself. A white stork nesting site can be seen at house no. 8. On the old road to Řečice, you can see the Hajanský pond and Velký kámen. The two landscape features form part of a route perspective that differs from the buildings on the village green and directs the view towards the surrounding area.
Northeast of Hajany is a group of menhirs erected by Menhirostav. Above Hajany, between pastures, there is a viewpoint overlooking the surrounding pastures, meadows and forests. Those who do not want to focus their stay solely on culture in the village will find another reason here to take Hajany’s landscape into account.
