Chříč is a destination for travelers who do not want to view cultural history and landscape separately. Its highlights range from a late Baroque castle complex and a traditional brewery to protected natural areas within the municipality. Castle History, Chapel and Special Insights

The Chříč castle complex comprises the Church of Saint John of Nepomuk, a farmyard and a park with terraces. The castle itself is a late Baroque reconstruction from the early 18th century and has an L-shaped floor plan. The Church of Saint John of Nepomuk was built as the castle chapel in 1767. This makes it possible to trace the development of the site through several architectural forms, without having to group the individual elements into a single period of construction.

Another historical detail lies outside the immediate castle complex: east of Chříč, at a crossroads, stands a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1767. It stands on a cuboid pedestal.

The Chříč brewery also offers an unusual, tangible insight. It has a fully copper two-vessel brewing system fired directly with wood. The brewery's Baroque malt house also houses the Museum of Everyday Life. It presents everyday life in the village in an engaging way. Brewing technology and village history thus stand as two distinct subjects: the system describes the production process, while the museum focuses on life in the past.

The Milada Šubrtová Memorial Hall offers a personal perspective on cultural history. It was opened on May 24, 2014, in honor of the artist Milada Šubrtová, who came from Lhota. The exhibition features personal belongings, documents from her singing career, photographs, costumes, concert dresses and the Thalia Cup.

Protected Landscapes Around Chříč

In Chříč, the landscape is not merely a backdrop but is specifically defined through several protected-area designations. Two-thirds of the municipality lie on the western edge of the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area. Part of the Berounka Natura 2000 site also lies within the municipality of Chříč. These two statements refer to different forms of protection and should therefore not be understood as referring to a single area.

The Dubensko Nature Reserve is also located in the cadastral area of Chříč, on the northern slope of the Javornice stream. Another notable natural feature is the yew grove in Chříč, which is described as the largest in Central Europe.
