Čímice lies in the Pošumaví landscape, surrounded by deep forests and limestone cliffs. The village showcases its surroundings not only as a vast natural backdrop, but also through specific destinations for walks, cycling trips and cultural exploration. Options include a marked hiking trail, a cycling route, a historic religious building, a monument in the village square and a circular trail with an exceptionally wide view.

Landscape and Views

The landscape includes Čímické jezírko, a flooded former limestone quarry in private ownership. Its water has blue-green hues. The site is not open to the public and is therefore not suitable as a freely accessible place to visit.

Čimická vyhlídka, by contrast, can be reached on foot. The path begins at the road by a car repair shop. The circular walking route from Čímice leads to the viewpoint, where an exceptionally wide panorama opens up. This makes it possible to combine views of the landscape with a specific route without planning the inaccessible jezírko as an excursion destination.

Chapel and Village Square

The Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius is a well-preserved religious building from the second half of the 19th century. It was consecrated on 22 November 1863 and is designated as a cultural monument. Its precise dating and preserved condition give the village a clear historical character, while the chapel also forms an independent cultural destination alongside the trails through the landscape.

The monument to those who fell in the world wars stands in the small village square of Čímice, in front of the municipal office. The chapel and the monument are two distinct cultural points of reference: the chapel represents religious architectural history, while the monument commemorates those who fell in the world wars.

Hiking and Cycling

The marked Vintířova stezka trail runs through the Čímice area. It is therefore one of the designated routes that connect the village with the Pošumaví landscape. Those looking to choose a hike will find a specific trail with its own name here, while the walk to Čimická vyhlídka forms a separate circular route.

For cycling, Route No. 121 is relevant. It crosses the eastern tip of Čímice and connects the neighboring villages of Žichovice and Bílenice. Its course therefore differs from the hiking trail in terms of the means of travel, the part of the village it passes through and the connection between the neighboring villages. The route does not merely lead to a single viewpoint, but places Čímice in relation to Žichovice and Bílenice.

Transport Connections

Čímice is served by bus and connected to the nearby Žichovice railway station. The station is located on the České dráhy railway line between Klatovy and Horažďovice. For local orientation, both the bus connection to Čímice and the rail connection in Žichovice are specific points of reference. The transport information complements the landscape and cultural destinations without turning them into one single predetermined route.
