Landscape in the Podorlická pahorkatina

The landscape around Lubník is not defined by spectacular heights, but by the gentle waves of the Podorlická pahorkatina. A characteristic feature of the village is the Lubnický potok stream. The stream flows through Lubník and, as one of the smaller left-bank tributaries, belongs to the Moravská Sázava. The landscape can therefore be understood not only through its terrain lines, but also through a specific watercourse that runs through the village.

A marked local cycling route runs through the southern part of Lubník.

Church, Cross and Places of Remembrance

A prominent building is the Church of St. Peter and Paul. The rural, single-nave church was built in 1835 in the Empire style and has a small tower above the façade. It was built to replace a wooden structure at the expense of the owners of the estate, the Liechtensteins. The combination of simple rural architecture, the year of construction and the church's history makes it a specific destination for anyone who also takes an interest in smaller religious buildings and their origins while travelling.

A restored marble cross dating from 1922 stands in the local cemetery. Made up of five parts, the cross is a small, finely crafted religious monument of the municipality. A new bilingual Czech-German plaque at the cemetery cross also commemorates the former inhabitants of Lubník who found their final resting place there. Another historical reference lies at the edge of the forest: a preserved boundary stone marks the former national border there. These places do not tell the same story, but complement one another as different forms of remembrance.

Traditions with Music, Wine and Family Activities

The traditional Lubnická pouť pilgrimage festival takes place annually and is held to welcome summer and the approaching summer holidays. It includes children's attractions such as a chair swing ride, a boating pool and a shooting gallery. For families, this creates a different way to experience Lubník than a purely cultural walk: the event combines local tradition with activities that are particularly visible to younger visitors.

The Lubnická pouť traditionally also includes a Sunday football match in which Lubník plays against a team from Cotkytle. In addition to the children's attractions, the festival therefore includes a communal sporting event.

The event Vinné ladění on 15 May 2026 placed its own emphasis on regional wine culture. At a public wine tasting, 30 to 40 wine samples were presented by the Poklady z Moravy wine shop. Musical accompaniment was provided by the CML cimbalom band from Šumperk. Those who associate cultural travel experiences not only with buildings but also with taste and music will find this event a distinctly different subject of interest from the church, cemetery or cycling route.
