Cenkovice: Ski Resort, Cross-Country Skiing and Cultural Sites

Cenkovice combines winter sports opportunities with natural and cultural attractions that give the town a diverse profile. The Čenkovice ski resort offers seven ski runs, including two for night skiing. The resort is complemented by a snow park with its own lift. Winter sports with clear points of comparison

In the area of Čenkovice, Buková hora and Suchý vrch, there are three machine-groomed cross-country ski trails in the winter season. They are 8.3 km, 8.6 km and 17.5 km long and connect to the cross-country ski trails of the Orlické hory Mountains. In addition, more than 30 kilometres of machine-groomed cross-country ski tracks are maintained in this area. Summer activities and all-terrain karts

During the summer season, the Sportovní areál in Čenkovice is open to visitors. It offers refreshments, a tennis court, a mini-golf course, and courts for volleyball, nohejbal and football. A small climbing wall and a children’s playground with a sandbox complement the documented facilities. The all-terrain karts also offer a distinct activity option: they are suitable for children and adults, designed for a safe downhill ride, and start on the landscaped Vigona ski slope. A ski lift takes all-terrain kart users to the top of the hill.

Cultural traces in Čenkovice

The listed immovable cultural monument kostel sv. Vavřince comprises the church, the enclosing wall and the cemetery gate. The late Baroque church was built between 1780 and 1782 on the site of an older wooden church, which was already mentioned in 1667. The Kříž u kostela sv. Vavřince in Čenkovice is a stone cross on a pedestal with a figurative relief. It dates from 1800 and was restored in 1920.

Other historical points of interest include the socha sv. Jana Nepomuckého, a valuable High Baroque sculpture dating from 1736, and the bývalá evangelická fara čp. 68. This historically significant building dates from the first half of the 19th century.

The Čenkovička natural monument protects a rich population of spring snowflakes. This protected natural feature complements the sporting activities and historical monuments with another facet of a stay.
