Sezemice Nad Loučnou combines an engaging urban history with a waterscape where easy hikes, cycling trips and time spent outdoors can be enjoyed together. The Church of the Most Holy Trinity is particularly distinctive. It is considered one of the oldest and most important monuments in the region. Its oldest brickwork dates from the first half of the 13th century, making the church an important starting point if you would like to discover the historical side of Sezemice.

A striking feature is the octagonal bell tower of Sezemice. It is unique in Bohemia in this form and size. The town’s oldest surviving residential building also reflects the local architectural history: House No. 92 on Husovo náměstí has an 18th-century gable in the peasant Baroque style. The Loučná, Mill Waters and Trails

From Sezemice, easy hikes and cycling trips are possible along newly created paths and cycle routes. Tourist information boards installed at several locations in 2014 provide orientation in the surrounding area: around the aqueduct, at the confluence of the Zadní Lodrantka and Loučná, along the cycle path beside the Loučná, and on the banks of the Loučná. They provide information about the surrounding nature, the history of the aqueduct and the town’s sights.

One of the notable structures in the nearby area is the Velký Semín Aqueduct. It was built in 1892 as part of the Pardubice pond system. The Mlynářova louka near the former mill offers a more tranquil landscape setting. It lies between the watercourses of the Loučná and the millrace and is considered a natural oasis of peace. The Mlynářka sports and leisure park was created in the centre of Sezemice, between the Loučná and its millrace, Mlýnský potok. When temperatures fall below freezing, a natural ice rink is created in part of the park near the millrace, and it is used by skaters of all ages. Depending on the weather, Mlynářka therefore offers different possibilities without historical sights fading from view.
