Cultural history in Sobětuchy and Pouchobrady

A cultural-history highlight is the Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity in Pouchobrady. The church dates from the early 14th century. It is located in the settlement of Pouchobrady near Chrudim, which belongs to the municipality of Sobětuchy. In the presbytery, the area around the altar, remnants of wall paintings from the second half of the 14th century have been preserved. The paintings therefore belong to a later phase than the church’s early construction phase. A visit to the church thus offers not only a historic building but also preserved traces of medieval furnishings.

In Sobětuchy itself, House No. 16, a log house, is considered interesting from a cultural-historical and architectural perspective. Together with the Church of the Holy Trinity, it creates a program of visits that showcases different forms of regional architectural and local history: here, a log house in the village; there, a church in the associated settlement of Pouchobrady.
