The written history of Dřenice goes back to 1381. According to historical sources, its founding is attributed to Count Dřeň, who lived in what is now the Na Hrázi area. Na Hrázi is also particularly notable for its landscape: this is where the Bylanka and Markovický streams meet at the former pond dam.

The Bylanka enters the municipality of Dřenice from the south. At first, the stream flows through a shallow valley, then continues north through the built-up area before leaving the municipality again. The source of the Dřenička, a small stream, is also considered a noteworthy local landscape feature. Monuments and Chapels with a Detailed History

A central memorial is the Dřenice monument to the victims of the First and Second World Wars. The sandstone monument bears a name plaque, a relief, a flaming heart and a cross. Its reverse records the unveiling on 18 August 1946. The design and the specific date give the monument a clear historical context.

A chapel stands in the Na Hrázi area; it was built by local residents at the end of the 19th century. It is located above the confluence of the Markovický and Bylanka streams. Another religious landmark is the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk. It stands south of the village at a crossroads near the Na Hrázi area. The local amenities also include a wooden bell structure containing an original bell that remains in working order.

Sport, Community Life and a Festival Weekend

The SK Dřenice sports complex includes a grass football pitch, changing rooms with a clubhouse and snack bar, sanitary facilities, a summer dance floor and a renovated tennis court. Several football tournaments for men or veterans' teams are held at the sports ground every year. The sports ground is therefore described not only as a playing field but also as a venue in a recurring local events calendar.

Several times a year, the Dřenice fishing club organizes angling competitions in several categories at the municipal fire pond. Dřenické Posvícení 2025 added a different emphasis: a goulash festival, a dance event and other accompanying activities took place on the first weekend of September.
