Kladníky between Maleník and Šišemka

Kladníky combines a distinctive location with a multifaceted local history. The village lies on the southeastern slopes of the Maleník massif and at the same time in the valley of the Šišemka River. Its history begins in the second half of the 14th century. In 1372, brothers from Kladníky received Kladníky Fortress as a fief from Margrave John Henry.

The presumed site of the fortress is located in the northern part of the village near houses No. 4 and 5. This site was formerly known as “Zámčisko”. The local fortress fell into disrepair during the Thirty Years’ War. Chapel and religious landmarks in the village

The Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary was built in 1925 on the site of a belfry erected as early as 1848 and consecrated on September 13, 1925. A memorial plaque commemorating those who fell in the First World War is located at the chapel. There is also a statue of Saint Anthony next to it.

Further religious landmarks are located at the village exits: In the direction of Hlinsko stands a statue of Jesus Christ, while in the direction of Lhota there is a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. At the village exit towards Bezuchov and Šišma stands a wooden cross. Near the windmill there is a statue of Our Lady of Hostýn. The former windmill and its history

The former wooden windmill in Kladníky dates from 1829. It was protected as an immovable cultural monument from May 3, 1958, to August 28, 2008; this protection is no longer in force. Inadequate maintenance led to the complete destruction of the framework. The interior of the Kladníky windmill was transferred in 1983 to the Wallachian Open Air Museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. The history of the village therefore includes both the year the mill was built and its subsequent changes, as well as the transfer of its interior.

Cycling on the Záhorská Cycling Route

For an active exploration, the Záhorská Cycling Route offers a clearly described option. It follows a circular route from Lipník nad Bečvou through Kladníky and is approximately 39 kilometers long. The route is particularly suitable for trekking bikes. The approximate length gives you a reliable basis for planning a cycling trip without requiring any additional distance or time estimates.
