Jindrichov is ideal for a trip that alternates between observing nature, exploring local history and staying active. You can focus your trip on landscapes, culture or active exploration.

Nature Between Mountain Meadows and Forests

The Františkov Nature Reserve is located in the cadastral area of Nové Losiny, part of the municipality of Jindřichov. In Habartice, mountain meadows alternate with forests; in good weather, panoramic views are available there. Habartice is also home to the Habartická lime tree, designated as a natural monument.

Churches and Living Tradition

On the hill above Pusté Žibřidovice stands a church dedicated to Saint Mary Magdalene. In Pekařov, the cemetery chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built by local residents in the first half of the 19th century. The Pekařovská pilgrimage takes place every year in mid-August on the occasion of the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Pekařov thus combines a specific construction history with a recurring date in the annual calendar.

In Nové Losiny, the Church of Saint Isidore was built between 1711 and 1714 and extensively remodeled between 1777 and 1820. Its main altar is adorned with a large painting of its patron saint. Habartice adds to the historical picture with the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary: it was built by non-Catholics before the Battle of White Mountain and remodeled into its present form in 1842. The construction phases of these churches range from the period before the Battle of White Mountain to renovations in the 19th century.

Cycling on Two Documented Routes

Two routes connected with Jindřichov are described for cyclists. The Velké Losiny–Maršíkov–Filipová–Rejhotice–Přemyslov–Jindřichov–Žárová–Velké Losiny cycling route is suitable for mountain bikes and trekking bikes. The Branná–Jindřichov–Kouty nad Desnou cycling route passes through Habartice u Jindřichova, Jindřichov, Kouty nad Desnou and Pekařov. The first route starts and ends in Velké Losiny; the second names Branná and Kouty nad Desnou as its endpoints and passes through several places in between. This allows you to choose the route sequence based on the places you want to include in your cycling plans.

Railway Station and Historical Traces

Jindřichov na Moravě railway station is part of the IDSOK integrated transport system. Another historical trace leads into the forest above the settlement of Pleče: the remains of a former, now nameless castle site lie there. Archaeological finds date its construction to the mid-14th century and its demise to the mid-15th century. In the Habartice area, a paper mill was built in the mid-19th century on the site of a former mill.
