Discover Písařov: History, Trails and Landscape
Accommodation in Písařov
Písařov Between History and Landscape
Písařov combines a vivid local history with trails through a varied landscape. Anyone wishing to combine culture and activity during their stay will find several different points of interest here: historic buildings, a museum, memorial sites, as well as marked cycling and hiking trails. This makes it possible to explore the town from different perspectives without limiting a trip to just one activity.
Among the defining buildings is the Roman Catholic Church of the Sending of the Holy Apostles in Písařov, dating from 1785. Farmstead No. 104 is also part of the local history and is protected as a historic monument. Both destinations reflect the town's established structure and complement a stay that is not focused solely on nature experiences.
The local museum is located in the Písařov municipal office and is open from Monday to Friday. The school museum exhibition has also been restored in the same building. This allows you to combine a visit to the municipality with an insight into its local past.
Cycling and Hiking Around Písařov
Cycle route 6229 runs through Písařov along the Cotkytle–Jedlí–Písařov–Čečel route. In the direction of Písařov, it follows a forest road and then continues along a class III road. This combination of different sections is just as relevant to day planning as the frequent ascents and descents. The route also passes through a varied landscape and is suitable for more experienced cyclists. If you include it in your plans, you should therefore allow for a more active day of cycling rather than viewing it as a purely leisurely connection.
The marked KČT hiking trail 4877/592b also passes through Písařov. Čečel is a prominent feature of the landscape: at 839 m above sea level, Čečel is the highest point in the cadastral area of Písařov. The hiking trail thus leads to a clearly identifiable destination nearby and complements the more cycling-focused exploration with another way to experience the landscape.
Memorial Sites with a Specific History
The area's history is also visible at the partisan bunkers. The largest partisan bunker in Písařov accommodated 30 people and was destroyed by the Nazis after a firefight on 24 May 1944. Another partisan bunker belonging to the “Balalajka” group accommodated 8–10 people, was never discovered by the Fascists, and was restored in 1975. The different fates of the two bunkers create a striking historical contrast and give an excursion an additional thematic dimension alongside the landscape and local culture.
Travel Planning Information
The Písařov, Kocanda bus stop is located on road I/11, where long-distance buses also stop. When planning your trip, you can therefore take cultural sightseeing, active days and the available transport connections into account together. Písařov can thus serve as a base for days with different focuses: visiting the church and museum, hiking along the marked trail, or taking the more demanding cycle route 6229.
