Bobrovník – Hillside Location, History and Hiking Trails

Bobrovník combines a distinctive hillside location with a small settlement history and several specific starting points for exploring nature and culture. The settlement lies in an exposed position on the northern slope, which descends toward the valley of the Staříč River. In places, Bobrovník is hidden among treeless vegetation. Landscape and Settlement Character

The settlement of Bobrovník consists of relatively dense development, with farmsteads along a road at the edge of the forest. This settlement pattern is accompanied by treeless vegetation. As a result, the place does not appear as a self-contained town, but as a clearly recognizable settlement in a distinctive hillside and valley setting. A History Dating Back to 1723

Bobrovník was first mentioned in 1723. The settlement probably originated shortly before 1723 as a small logging settlement on the estate of the Bishop of Wrocław. The year marks the first mention, while its origin shortly beforehand remains a supposition. Today, Bobrovník is primarily a recreational area. The presumed logging settlement belongs to the early development of the place, while the recreational area reflects its present-day function.

Hiking Routes with Different Characteristics

The Jeseník–Bobrovník route is part of the Moravská stezka. Another hiking route, Jeseník–Šerák–Ramzová, passes through the settlement of Bobrovník on its way to the summit of Mount Šerák. The two routes therefore differ in both their course and destination: one is incorporated into the Moravská stezka, while the other passes through Bobrovník and continues to the summit. When planning your day, you can therefore choose between a hike connected with the Moravská stezka and a tour with a summit as its destination.

Camping and Further Local Details

The Autocamping Bobrovník is also useful for planning your overnight stay. It is located in the valley of the Staříč River between the municipality of Lipová-lázně and the town of Jeseník, in the Bobrovník recreational area. The autocamp offers camping facilities for tents and caravans, as well as cabins. Its location in the Staříč valley differs from that of the settlement on the northern slope; the accommodation site and the settlement landscape are therefore situated in two different types of terrain.

Another local detail is the Lípa na Bobrovníku lime tree. It grows near the settlement of Bobrovník in Dolní Lipová. As an individual landscape feature, it represents a different local reference point from the hiking routes: it is located near the settlement and in Dolní Lipová, while the routes incorporate Bobrovník into their respective itineraries.
