Discover Olbramice

Olbramice combines a distinctive landscape with a tangible local history and several established opportunities for discovery. The town lies in the foothills of the Vítkovská pahorkatina and at the beginning of the Oderské vrchy Nature Park. Natural landmarks, historical traces and designated cycle routes therefore meet here – an interesting basis for anyone who wants to choose their stay not only by accommodation, but also by specific experiences.

Landscape around Olbramice

A clear point of reference within the town is Vrchpolí. At 376 m, it is the highest point in Olbramice. Those who value landscapes and activity when planning their trip will therefore find a concrete starting point here for orienting themselves, without reducing the town to a single attraction.

Church, memorial sites and local history

The first written record of Olbramice dates back to 1377. The Church of St. Bartholomew is a particularly vivid testament to the town’s long history. It has Gothic origins and was remodelled in the Baroque style around 1750. A memorial lime tree with a trunk circumference of more than 668 cm also stands by the church. The tree is therefore not only part of the church surroundings, but also an unusually tangible natural and commemorative feature of the town.

East of Olbramice, towards Klimkovice, stands another memorial: the cross there was erected after the First World War in memory of Alois, the son lost in the First World War. Together with the church and the memorial lime tree, this site offers several perspectives on Olbramice – from its Gothic origins and Baroque remodelling to the culture of remembrance of the 20th century.

Cycle routes with different levels of difficulty

Two routes are relevant for exploring the area by bicycle. Cycle Route No. 6011 runs from Bartošovice via Studénka, Velké Albrechtice, Bílovec, Olbramice and Klimkovice to Polanka n. O. Cycle Route No. 6191 leads from Bravantice rozc. via Olbramice and Zbyslavice to the rozc. U Patra junction. An important distinction applies here: Cycle Route No. 6191 is suitable only for mountain bikes because of several poorly passable sections. When planning your trip, the choice of route and bicycle should therefore be considered separately; the two connections do not have the same documented suitability for cycling.

Traditional events

The events calendar is also part of the town’s character. The Olbramice Beer Festival is one of the traditional events in Olbramice. The “Day of the Municipality” event also takes place at the end of August. These two dates give a stay a seasonal and local connection, without implying a general events calendar for the entire year.
