Vojkovice combines natural scenery, brewing culture and documented local history within a small area. The village lies in a valley at the confluence of the Lučina, Holčina and Račok streams. This makes it a destination with a variety of facets for planning your trip: you can combine a brewery tour with the region’s culinary heritage, choose a cycling or hiking route, and at the same time discover traces of a settlement that has existed since around 1500.

Brewery and Local Culinary Heritage

The focal point of a visit is a tour of the Pivovar Koníček brewery. The entire brewing process is explained, from the brewhouse equipment and fermentation to the lagering cellars and bottling. The tour also includes an agricultural museum, so the visit covers not only beer production but also another aspect of the area’s economic history.

The brewery includes Šalanda, a brewery restaurant open to the public on weekends. A recurring event in the local calendar is the “Koníčkův den” beer festival, held every year in June. The history of the “Vojkovická hořká” herbal liqueur also points to the local connection between the landscape and production: the liqueur was made in Vojkovice from medicinal herbs from the foothills of the Beskids and was distilled there until 1952.

Chapel and Cultural Monument

Vojkovice was established around the year 1500. A visible link to the area’s more recent history is the Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, completed and consecrated in 1890. Vojkovice is also home to a statue of Saint Francis of Assisi. It is listed in the state register of cultural monuments and was restored in 2014. The listing indicates the documented monument status; it does not establish specific visitor arrangements.

Cycling Route and Short Hike

Cycling Route 6005 passes through Vojkovice. It forms a circular route via Frýdek-Místek, Žermanice, Domaslavice, Nošovice and Raškovice.

For a shorter excursion, the “Vojkovické toulky” hiking route is available. It is described as easy and is 5.5 km long. The route alternates between pavements, paved roads, forest paths and gravel tracks, and includes three short, steep climbs. At the end of the route is Výletiště, which offers opportunities for active and passive recreation. The exact nature of the route is therefore just as much part of the orientation as its length and the climbs.

Railway Line and Station

The single-track railway line 322 between Frýdek-Místek and Český Těšín runs through Vojkovice. Dobratice pod Prašivou railway station is located within the territory of Vojkovice, approximately 1.9 km from the village centre.

When choosing a hotel or other accommodation in Vojkovice, you can use your preferred daily activities as a criterion. If your focus is on brewing culture and local history, the brewery tour, Šalanda and the cultural monuments take centre stage. For active days, Cycling Route 6005 or the “Vojkovické toulky” hike offer different types of routes. The railway line and station also provide a clear geographical reference point for your further search.
