Discover Bítouchov

Bítouchov is a destination for anyone who wants to combine trails, riverside landscapes and distinctive viewpoints during their stay. The Riegrova-Stezka and Kamenického-Stezka are particularly characteristic, offering different trail lengths and landscape impressions. There are also viewpoints, a historic bell chapel and other monuments, allowing nature experiences and cultural discoveries to be combined in various excursion formats.

Hiking between the Jizera, rocks and viewpoints

The red-marked Riegrova-Stezka hiking trail connects Semily, the Bítouchov district and Spálov and is 5.5 km long in total. A particularly striking section begins behind Bítouchov: there, 77-metre-long metal galleries built into the rock lead through the forest above the Jizera. Several rocky viewpoints along the trail offer views of the Jizera Valley and the surrounding natural landscape. The route also passes through the Galerie natural monument and the Údolí Jizery nature reserve. The trail therefore focuses not only on individual viewpoints but also on various protected landscape areas. Another clearly defined hiking trail is the 3 km-long, yellow-marked Kamenického-Stezka. It offers six rocky viewpoints and is therefore suitable as a separate option for an excursion with a particular emphasis on views. From the signpost at Morava, this trail leads past Medenec to Bítouchov. From there, the red-marked route continues to Semily. Those wishing to compare different routes will therefore find a connection between the trail sections at Morava, Bítouchov and Semily. Another orientation option is the 10 km-long hiking route between Semily and Morava, which passes through Bítouchov and is marked as accessible.

Viewpoints and historic details

Masarykova vyhlídka, at 497 m above sea level, is the highest point in Bítouchov. It serves as a destination for walks and excursions and offers a view of Kozákov. It thus complements the rocky viewpoints along Riegrova-Stezka with another scenic spot. The Bítouchovská zvonička is also one of the area's distinctive features. It stands in Bítouchov on a slope above the road, dates from 1812 and has a shingle-covered cap. It was reconstructed in 1996. A war memorial from 1924 is also one of the significant monuments in the excursion area described here. The Bítouchovská lávka, on the other hand, is located in Semily. It crosses the Jizera and lies on the Greenway Jizera along the route from the town centre to Riegrova-Stezka. This specific connection makes it another landmark between the town area, the river and the hiking trail, without equating it with the viewpoints or monuments in Bítouchov. For comparison with other destinations, you can also include Loukov Nad Jizerou (Loukov Nad Jizerou), Klokočí U Turnova (Klokočí U Turnova), Záhoří U Semil (Záhoří U Semil), Dolni Stepanice (Dolni Stepanice), Peřimov (Peřimov), Pelešany (Pelešany), Kacanovy (Kacanovy) and Vichova Nad Jizerou (Vichova Nad Jizerou) in your research.
