Rícky V Orlických Horách – Skiing, Cycling and Culture
Říčky v Orlických horách is located on a western spur of the Orlické hory, partly on uplands and partly in valleys and basins. Numerous streams and small watercourses have shaped these areas. The location between uplands, valleys and basins defines the character of the village; streams and small watercourses are among the defining landscape features.
Winter Sports and Bike Park
Ski centrum Říčky offers alpine skiing with a four-seater chairlift, a snow park, ski rental, ski service and a ski school. For cross-country skiing, the ski centre maintains a network of routes; the “Buď Fit” route is 12 kilometres long and runs via Pěticestí and Mezivrší. Twelve kilometres provide a clear spatial framework for planning a day of cross-country skiing. Alpine skiing and cross-country skiing form two distinct winter sports areas there.
Bikepark Říčky comprises three trails of varying difficulty, as well as a pump track and a skills course. The blue trail is intended primarily for beginners and families with children. The red trail is two kilometres long and includes berms, jumps and tables. The pump track and skills course complement the three trails with two additional riding areas. In addition to the blue and red trails, a third trail is part of the bike park. When planning a descent, the red trail’s berms, jumps and tables can be taken into account alongside its length. The SpidersCentre rope park is also located in the immediate vicinity of Ski centrum, with several courses of varying difficulty and a zip line across the valley.
Landscape and Notable Places
A notable destination in the surrounding area is Kameny v Říčkách: a group of large upright stones about 500 metres from the village centre. The mountains Velká Suchá, Dębosz, Jagodna and Sasanka are also located around Říčky v Orlických horách.
Bunkers, Castles and Traditional Houses
Above Říčky v Orlických horách, the two-storey bunker Pěchotní srub R-S 87 Průsek is open to the public. It is located on the red route between the peaks of Mezivrší and Anenský vrch. Szczerba - Ruiny zanku, a castle, is also located in the vicinity of Říčky v Orlických horách. In the wider regional area are the castles Gorzanów - Pałac, Żelazno - Zamek and Trzebieszowice.
Valuable traditional mountain houses, mostly built using log or half-timbered log construction, are part of the character of Říčky v Orlických horách. This architectural detail adds a local architectural dimension to the themes of nature, winter and culture.
Which Accommodation Suits the Travel Idea?
When looking for accommodation, you can use your preferred travel focus as a first guide: Ski centrum and the cross-country skiing route represent winter sports, the bike park and rope park active days, while bunkers, castles and mountain houses sharpen the cultural perspective. This allows you to choose more consciously between a focus on sport and a more culture-oriented exploration, without equating individual accommodations with the attractions.
