Bohdašín lies in the foothills of the Orlické Mountains and offers views of the Elbe lowlands and the Krkonoše Mountains. The village combines an open landscape with a remarkably rich succession of cultural and historical sites. Local history and visible landmarks

In the built-up part of the village, a chapel dating from 1826 stands at an intersection opposite house no. 47. Its prism-shaped bell tower gives the small building a clearly recognizable feature. On the outskirts of Bohdašín, on the road to Slavoňov, there is also a sandstone group depicting Calvary.

The area's older history also reaches far back. Bohdašín formerly belonged to the Frymburk estate. Iron ore was mined around Bohdašín and Bydlo around 1446, and ironworks were built there at the same time. This historical trace complements the visible religious monuments with an insight into the region's earlier use.

Rokole: sacred sites and marked trails

Rokole is a Marian pilgrimage site in Bohdašín that arose at the site of an apparition of the Virgin Mary. Its buildings include the Rokolský kostel, a pseudogothic church dedicated to Our Lady of Rokole. It was built in 1930 and consecrated on 19 August 1945.

Several smaller structures also make Rokole an interesting destination for a peaceful walk. The wooden Loreta is a passageway open at the front, with pictures of the Seven Sorrows of Mary hanging along it. Opposite Rokole, a Stations of the Cross with cast-iron reliefs on stone pillars was built in the forest in 1874. The Schönstatt Chapel in Rokole was consecrated on 19 July 1997 and is considered the first original Schönstatt shrine in Bohemia.

The Cesta manželů offers a route variant with additional stations. It runs along ponds and features 15 panels with texts and sculptures. A marked hiking connection from Rokole to Bohdašín first follows a green-marked trail and then a blue-marked trail. The specific sequence of the markings provides a clearly described connection between the pilgrimage site and Bohdašín.

Frymburk Castle Ruins in the Nearby Area

Frymburk Castle is one of the historical destinations in the nearby area. It was used from the 14th to the 17th century; its complex includes an 18.5-metre-wide donjon on the castle promontory. The ruins of Frymburk Castle lie near Nový Hrádek on a high rocky promontory surrounded by the Olešenka River. Alongside the chapels, churches, and trails of Bohdašín and Rokole, this provides another notable site connected with the history of medieval castles.
