Zbizuby was first mentioned in writing in 1295. At that time, it was a manor where the Vladiks Slávek and Jan of Zbizuby lived. This early mention gives the village a clearly recognizable historical dimension, without requiring you to limit yourself to a single attraction. The preserved urban structure of small rural settlements is also part of the area's distinctive character.

The landscape can be explored not only through individual buildings. The valley, the stream flowing into the Sázava and the traditional settlement structure form the spatial backdrop for walks, cycling tours and cultural discoveries. Two Marked Cycling Routes in Different Directions

Two marked routes are directly connected with Zbizuby for cyclists. Cycling route 0122 leads from Petrovice II via Vlková, Nechyba and Zbizuby to Podveky and Rataje nad Sázavou.

Cycling route 0123, on the other hand, begins in Zbizuby and leads via Vranice and Kácov to Zruč nad Sázavou.

Chapel by the Hollow Way and Mill in Koblasko

The Chapel of Zbizuby is located on a hollow way to Otryby. It is a low, plastered building made of rubble stone with a rectangular floor plan and is a small 19th-century sacred structure. At the same time, it contributes to the character of the surrounding landscape. The combination of its simple architectural form, its location on the hollow way and its historic age makes it a destination for anyone who pays attention to smaller cultural details during a visit to the village.

Another historical point of reference is the Dolský mlýn mill in the Koblasko district. For your visit to the mill, access from Koblasko is recommended. The paths from Boštice and Petrovice shown on the map are almost impassable in places. If you include the mill in your plans, you should take these differing path conditions into account and use the recommended access from Koblasko as your guide.

Culture as an Addition to Your Stay

The Zbizuby Cultural Centre hosts live concerts. This means that, in addition to the landscape, cycling routes and historic buildings, there is also a cultural venue directly in the village.
