Řevničov: Village History and Trails Through Nature
Řevničov combines medieval traces, preserved local history, and marked trails with a protected natural area. This creates different options for planning your trip: you can discover historical details in the village, take a manageable hike, or make Cycle Route 8192 the focus of your day.
History in the Villagescape and Living Traditions
Řevničov was founded on the basis of a charter of foundation signed by John of Luxembourg on 4 November 1325 in Münnerstadt, Bavaria. The Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Řevničov is mentioned as early as 1352 and was later rebuilt in the late Baroque style. The historic village square has been preserved to this day. Another notable building is Oličova Vila, House No. 138, an architecturally interesting building made of hand-worked Džbán marlstone.
The historical points of interest are therefore not isolated from one another: the village square, church, chapel, and villa give a tour several thematic stops between older village history and later architecture.
The local festivals also give the village its own annual rhythm. Řevničovské posvícení is held every year on the third Sunday in October. Řevničovská pouť is celebrated on the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul. The Chapel of Saint Anne dates from 1830 and adds to the historical points of interest in the village.
Prameny Klíčavy and Marked Trails
The Prameny Klíčavy Nature Reserve lies 500 metres south of Řevničov railway station. In the Křivoklátsko region, PR Prameny Klíčavy is the only peat spring locality of its kind. For a clearly defined hike, the route leads from Řevničov railway station to Prameny Klíčavy and back; the total 9 km route runs almost entirely along marked hiking trails. Other marked hiking trails also run in the vicinity of Řevničov.
Cycling with a Specific Route Length
Marked cycle routes of regional importance run in the vicinity of Řevničov. Cycle Route 8192 is 20.6 km long and classified as easy. It ends at a crossroads below Malý Louštín in Řevničov. The specified length and difficulty rating help you choose a bike trip according to a clear route framework, while the hike to Prameny Klíčavy offers a different option for the day. Its fixed length and easy rating create a different framework from the 9 km hike. The endpoint below Malý Louštín also gives the bike trip a clear finish.
