Obruby combines a protected landscape with distinctive traces of regional history and living traditions. The protected landscape area CHKO Český ráj associated with Obruby was designated on 1 March 1955 as the first protected landscape area in the Czech Republic. Part of Obruby lies within the area affected by CHKO Český ráj. This creates a destination where nature and cultural themes can be explored in close connection with the village, without reducing Obruby to just one attraction.

The Landscape around Pteč

There are springs in the small Pteč woodland. The Pteč stream flows through the woodland. Beside the stream is a small marsh meadow where the protected yellow-flowering plant European globeflower was once common.
