Forest, Spring and Leisure in the Village

St. Martin’s Church and Historical Traces

St. Martin’s Church was originally a Romanesque building and was rebuilt in the 16th century. From the church, Na Starých Zámkách can be reached by following a stream after about 15 minutes on foot. A Slavic hillfort once stood at this location. The short route thus connects the church with a historical trace in the landscape.

Local Festivals and Cuisine

One of the special traditions is the kettle goulash competition. Beef goulash is cooked in a kettle suspended over a fire, and visitors are also invited to sample the goulash. During Masopust in Kozojedy, the evening continues after the procession at U Heřmanů with music and dancing. Events like these showcase the local food and festival culture without separating it from the rural surroundings.

Ponds, Fishing and Announced Events

The local angling club runs sport fishing activities at the Na Pastvinách and Pod Hotelem ponds. Children’s fishing competitions were scheduled for 11 April 2026 at the Na Pastvinách pond by the kiosk in Kozojedy. The Noční rybářské závody at the Na Pastvinách pond were open to anglers and non-anglers from the evening of Friday, 2 August, until Saturday, 3 August 2024. The 9th edition of the Kozojedský Gastrofest was also announced for Saturday, 29 August, at the kiosk by the Na Pastvinách pond. The Gastrofest is followed by a traditional Lávka across the pond. The ponds complement the historical and scenic attractions with sport fishing and events. The dates range from the children’s fishing competition in April to fishing competitions and the Gastrofest in August.

Kozojedy is served by bus routes 381, 387, 660 and 959 as part of Prague’s Integrated Transport system. The bus routes provide a specific reference point for travelling to Kozojedy.
