A chapel stands on the village square, featuring a memorial plaque for those who fell in the First World War and a bust of T. G. Masaryk. The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands by the bridge over the Vlkava. It is a protected monument and dates from 1794. Its restorations in 1949, 1997 and 2021 are also part of its history.

Further historic landmarks add to this village landscape. The statue of the Immaculate Virgin Mary dates from 1883. The cross by the bridge was erected in 1867 by residents of Kosořice following the 1866 war and a devastating cholera epidemic. At Štěpánových, another cross commemorates the Štěpán family; their farmstead had stood there since the end of the 18th century. Later, under Countess Eleonora von Valdštejna, the farmstead was given a new Baroque appearance.

“Pálení čarodějnic” on the Last Day of April

A special tradition is the recurring Kosořice event “Pálení čarodějnic”. It takes place on the last day of April in the forest park at the sports field near the pond. During the festival, a children’s lantern procession travels from the fire station to the large fire. The event includes traditional competitions for small children and roasting sausages. This occasion offers families in particular a concrete opportunity to experience village life not only through historic buildings but also through a shared event.
