Slavic Hradiště Na Ptáčku

The Slavic Hradiště Na Ptáčku was established in the middle of the 8th century on a rocky promontory above the Šembera stream. The site covered 1.6 hectares and was surrounded by three rows of palisades and a ditch. During the Hussite Wars, the area was used to establish a field camp.

The archaeological site lies on a prominent spur that rises immediately above the southeastern edge of the built-up area. The extensive remains of the fortification lines are not visible in the terrain today. The site is therefore of particular interest to travelers who wish to explore historical connections and the location of a former settlement in the landscape.

Water Fortress and Castle Island

The oval Klučov Water Fortress is documented by an archaeological find dating to around the 13th century. It measures 58 × 32 m and is surrounded by a moat 6 to 22 m wide.

Wine Production in Three Sites

Vinařství Klučov is part of the local character. It offers a guided tasting of eight wines from the Klučov vineyards. By arrangement, private wine tastings are also available for groups of eight or more. The vineyards in Klučov cover a total of 5.4 hectares and are spread across three sites; their development began in 2017. Those who wish to combine culture and regional specialties will find an independent focus here alongside the historic sites.

Discover the Kudrnáčova Trail with Children

The Kudrnáčova Trail leads from Poříčany via Hradiště Klučov to Klučov and is more than 3 km long. It is suitable for families with children and offers, among other things, a barefoot trail and views of the surrounding area. This makes it possible to combine a historical visit with an active stage without limiting the trip to a single theme.

For navigation along the trail, railway line 011 between Prague and Kolín is relevant: both Poříčany and Klučov lie directly on this line.
