Čachovice – History, Nature and Cycling Route
ÄŒachovice combines notable historical traces with water, nature and various ways to discover the area. A fortress, Polnà rybnÃk Struhy, a cycling route and special ecclesiastical sites each add their own distinctive features.
Historical Traces and Ecclesiastical Culture
The fortress in Čachovice was the seat of the nobleman Bedřich in 1297. In 1595, the fortress in Čachovice was made of wood. The two years mark two temporally distant stages in the history of the same structure. The local cultural history also includes the Sbor J.A. Komenského church in Čachovice, which opened in 1936. Smaller details also make the historical sites noteworthy: The bell at the chapel in Čachovice was installed on September 16, 2013, including an electric mechanism. The wall of the Husův sbor in Čachovice also serves as a columbarium. The fortress, chapel and church building thus represent different forms of local history that can be connected while exploring Čachovice.
Polnà rybnÃk Struhy: Water and Nature
Polnà rybnÃk Struhy near ÄŒachovice includes a biocenter with many animal and plant species. Its water surface covers more than 3.3 hectares. The size of the body of water and the biodiversity of the biocenter give this place a distinct landscape character. Sport fishing has been practiced at Polnà rybnÃk Struhy since 2016. In addition to providing a habitat for animals and plants, this use is also part of the history and present-day character of the body of water. Those who want to combine historical impressions in ÄŒachovice with time spent by the water will find a clearly different experience here than at the fortress and ecclesiastical sites.
Dražická Cycling Route No. 0038
For cyclists, the signposted Dražická Cycling Route No. 0038 offers a specific route through the surrounding area. It runs through ÄŒachovice, Vlkava, Struhy, the turnoff to LipnÃk and Dražice. The listed stops lead from the village through several destinations in the surrounding area to Dražice; Struhy is also along the route, as is the turnoff to LipnÃk. This makes it possible to combine cycling with the landscape impressions around Polnà rybnÃk Struhy. In ÄŒachovice itself, the fortress and the Sbor J. A. Komenského represent historical and ecclesiastical themes. Depending on your preferred focus, the cycling route can therefore be viewed as a separate activity or together with the local history.
Church Services and Local Orientation
Services are held at the Sbor J. A. Komenského in Čachovice regularly at 11 a.m. every other Sunday, as well as on religious holidays. This fixed time complements the historical and architectural significance of the church site with a recurring part of local life. Transport connections are also relevant for getting oriented locally: A local bus stop is located near Čachovice railway station. Those considering the location of accommodation within the village can include the area around the railway station and bus stop in their choice of location. Thus, in addition to the fortress, church, body of water and cycling route, concrete points of reference are also available for further trip planning.
