Napajedla combines remarkable architecture with marked trails, walking opportunities and a historic waterway. Historic Buildings and Unique Collections

The Napajedla Stud Farm is a uniquely authentic example of distinctive agricultural architecture from the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. The complex is associated with organised horse breeding and has no equivalent in this region. The stud farm is also listed as a cultural monument.

Napajedla Castle is a detached, U-shaped, two-winged building in the style of late French Baroque. One of its historical features is a round Hall of Mirrors. The castle is surrounded by a ten-hectare park, laid out mostly in the English style, with numerous rare trees and a romantic water-lily pond. The castle grounds therefore offer a different accent from the enclosed historic architecture of the stud farm.

The Napajedla Museum also provides several ways to explore the city’s history. The permanent exhibitions focus on the history of the city and on industrial companies that have significantly influenced life in Napajedla. The “Hřiště hraček” exhibition presents toys by Libuše Niklová and Alfréd Klug and was created by the artist Petr Nikl. For orientation on site, it is also worth noting that the museum is fully wheelchair accessible from the courtyard of the New Monastery; accessible parking spaces and bicycle racks are also available there.

Another historic destination is the late Baroque Church of Saint Bartholomew. It was completed in 1712 and consecrated in 1741.

Marked Trails, Forest Park and Views

The Stezky Napajedelských emirátů form a 70-kilometre network of marked trails with beautiful views. The network connects Napajedla with the surrounding municipalities and is intended for pedestrians and mountain bikers.

The Jablunkov–Velehrad route of the Cyril and Methodius Trail also passes through Napajedla. Kalvárie Forest Park lies on a hill above the city and offers walks with beautiful views. The Lesoparkem Kalvárie educational trail offers a distinctive, playful perspective: it includes playful educational elements, animal sounds, information about nature and a forest playground with a climbing feature.

Napajedla has two harbours: Přístav Emila Spiro in the city centre and a harbour of the same name at the Pahrbek recreation area.
