Discover Ludslavice

Ludslavice combines a clearly recognizable local history with an agricultural setting and vibrant local traditions. The Church of St. Wenceslas acquired its present appearance through an extension added in 1958 and was extensively renovated in 2007. However, the history of Ludslavice reaches back much further: the first written mention dates from 1275. In the 16th century, the village was referred to as Ruclavice or Rudslavice; the present name was not reintroduced until 1925.

Smaller monuments also form part of the historical character of the area. In the fields outside Ludslavice, the Chapel of Our Lady stands beneath a lime tree. It was built in 1908. The chapel can be reached by crossing a footbridge over the Ludslávka stream and then continuing along a footpath. At the cross dating from 1880, the pedestal contains a relief depicting a chalice and a host. Two smaller-than-life-size praying statues direct their eyes toward the cross, giving this place a distinctive artistic detail.

The cadastral area of Ludslavice covers 585 hectares. More than 80% of this area is used as arable land. The Ludslávka watercourse runs through the cadastral area and is also part of the described route to the Chapel of Our Lady.
