Village square, educational trail and a hilly landscape

Jiřice U Humpolce combines village history and landscape experiences within a small area. The Church of St. James the Greater stands on the village square and is listed in the Central Register of Immovable Cultural Monuments. The small Náveský pond is also located directly on the village square. This means that a visit to the village does not begin with a long list of individual destinations, but with two easily recognisable points in the centre: a religious building and a small body of water.

The Petrovický stream runs southwest between Jiřice and Speřice. A particularly notable historical trace is the Jiřice commemorative lime tree: it is approximately 700 years old and stands out because of its hollow trunk. It is precisely this unusual combination of a hollow trunk and great age that makes the tree a memorable detail of the local landscape.

Those who continue into the landscape will focus more on the elevations, valleys, rows of trees, the Petrovický stream and the remaining paths.
