Dittersbach amid Sandstone and Panoramic Views

Around Jetřichovice – the Czech Dittersbach – striking sandstone cliffs, viewpoints and traces of regional history come together. The cadastral area of Jetřichovice lies in České Švýcarsko National Park, which was established on 1 January 2000. The international long-distance E3 trail also passes through Jetřichovice. The Jetřichovické vyhlídky and Their Trails

The Jetřichovické vyhlídky can be reached from Jetřichovice. A circular route connects the three most important viewpoints, Mariina skála, Vilemínina stěna and Rudolfův kámen, and can be completed in a few hours. The red-marked trail from Jetřichovice to Mariina skála climbs mostly gently for the first nearly two kilometres, before a final section with around 250 steps. Vilemínina stěna can be reached from Jetřichovice via the red-marked trail and via Mariina vyhlídka. Rudolfův kámen is a viewpoint in the sandstone wall of the Jetřichovické skály; the shelter there can be reached via more than 170 steps.

Mariina skála offers panoramic views of the Český Švýcarsko landscape, including Růžovský vrch, Studenec, Vilemínina stěna and other rocks. Vilemínina stěna is a 439-metre-high wall offering views of Jetřichovice and Růžovský vrch. Pavlínino údolí, a wooded and partly rocky valley of the Chřibská Kamenice, lies nearby. Sandstone walls, the river’s romantic meanders and the Rusalčina jeskyně give this valley its own distinctive landscape features.

Traces of Culture between Trails and Rocks

Trpasličí skála lies beside the road from Jetřichovice to Rynartice. In 1832 and 1833, steps were carved into the sandstone there, along with reliefs of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs; today, the rock formation is a cultural monument. In winter, the yellow-marked trail from Jetřichovice is considered the most reliable route to Dolský mlýn. Visitors can explore the entire Dolský mlýn site on foot.

The historical origins of Jetřichovice are connected with Falkenštejn Castle, which was built to protect the Česká silnice. A quest leads through the history of this road and its surroundings. Near Jetřichovice, remnants of a rock castle with a hall carved into the rock, a window niche and a chapel have also been preserved. The Church of Saint John of Nepomuk stands on the site of a chapel dating from 1748 and was reconsecrated in 1993. Expozice Leporelo offers a virtual tour. At times, Jetřichovice also had climatic and mineral spas.
