Discover Snovídky

Snovídky combines living tradition, early written history and the terrain traces of an abandoned castle with natural attractions along the Kyjovka and at Bezdýnka Spring. If you would like to combine culture, activity and quiet discoveries on your trip, the village offers several different points of interest.

Culture and Traces of the Past

According to Volný, Snovídky was first mentioned in written documents in 1360. Another historical connection leads to Bučovice: After Tas z Ojnic became lord of Snovídky and the Bučovice estate, Snovídky and Bučovice, located 8 km to the west, had the same owners. This relationship makes Bučovice a noteworthy point of comparison for anyone who would like to take a closer look at the history of the places and their former ownership structures.

Hrádek u Snovídek represents a clearly visible, but not fully preserved, past. It is an abandoned castle that probably dates from the Middle Ages, although it may also date back to the Hallstatt period. It presumably fell into ruin as a result of a fire. Terrain traces have survived; Hrádek u Snovídek is designated as freely accessible. The historical remains include a ditch up to 10 metres wide and 3 metres deep, as well as a rampart preserved along larger parts of the perimeter. These dimensions give the site a tangible form, while the traces do not constitute a fully preserved structure.

Kyjovka, Bezdýnka and Nature

Beavers have been present along the Kyjovka stream in Snovídky since 2004. The wildlife in Snovídky also includes deer, roe deer, wild boar, pheasants and hares.

A specific natural point of interest is Bezdýnka Spring. It carries water and is considered easily accessible; it can be reached by bicycle via a path. An information board at the spring provides information about the spring itself and the Bezdýnka educational trail.

Cycling and Getting There

Another documented cycling option is Cycle Route 473 (Těšanka). It runs from Otrokovice to Rajhradice, is moderately difficult and follows paved and surfaced paths. The route therefore provides an independent reference point for cycling plans. When choosing accommodation, you can distinguish between a stay focused on the historical and natural points of interest in Snovídky and a broader plan along this cycling route, without making assumptions about distances or travel times.

From Snovídky, you can take bus route 650 via the Nesovice interchange to Bohdalice-Pavlovice and then continue on routes 156 or 166 to Vyškov.

Tradition and Events Calendar

The traditional Ostatky in Snovídky include a masked procession through the village. A summer cinema screening was also announced for Saturday, 22 August 2026, at 9 p.m. at the ŠUTERŇA SNOVÍDKY venue in Snovídky. The date has already passed.
