Explore Nemochovice through three specific reasons to visit: the architecture of St. Florian’s Church, Jezdecký den, held annually since 1981, and marked trails in the surrounding area. First consider whether historic architecture, an event date or outdoor activity should shape your stay. The church’s design and furnishings feature specific details; on the trails, markings, starting point and destination provide orientation.

St. Florian’s Church: design and furnishings

The nave of St. Florian’s Church is rectangular, while the five-sided chancel has buttresses. To appreciate the design, it is worth looking at these two areas separately: the nave’s floor plan and the shape of the chancel create distinct focal points. This way, the architecture can be understood not just through a single façade, but through the layout of the church interior.

The nave and chancel have a net rib vault with domed vault cells. Gilded wooden roses adorn the vault where the ribs intersect. The pattern thus combines a clear division of the vault surfaces with prominent decorative details. In the chancel, a high Baroque oratory opens onto the sanctuary through an arcade in the south wall; its balustrade is part of this distinctive architectural feature.

The entrances also have their own distinctive design: diamond-pointed Renaissance portals provide access to the nave and chancel. The furnishings also reveal a contrast between periods. Above the Neo-Renaissance stone pulpit from 1887 is a wooden Renaissance sounding board, which, according to the surviving signature, was made in 1604 by the carpenter Konrád Seifert from Freiberg. These architectural and decorative details span everything from the portals to a specifically dated signature.

Jezdecký den and trails in the surrounding area

Nemochovice has hosted the annual Jezdecký den since 1981. If you would like to plan your trip around this event, check the specific dates and arrangements before making plans. This lets you factor the event into your trip planning without assuming a particular date.

The yellow- and red-marked trails share a starting point in Brankovice and split at the southern edge of Nemochovice. The yellow-marked Cesta partyzánského oddílu Olga trail runs through the Orlovická vrchovina area to Morkovice-Slížany. The trail description was checked on 24 August 2026; check the markings on site before setting out. This provides specific information for planning your route: the shared starting point, where the trails split and the course of the yellow-marked trail to its stated destination.
