Luckovice: Village History, Monuments and Events

Lučkovice combines medieval origins with remarkable architectural details and an events programme that brings together culture, dance and activities for children. The village was first mentioned in 1227, providing a specific point of access to the history of the place. This creates a destination where historical traces and different event themes come together within a compact area. History is not limited to a single building, but can be seen in the chapel, statue, wayside shrine and farmstead.

Chapel, Wayside Shrine and Vernacular Architecture

One of the notable buildings is the chapel in Lučkovice. Its octagonal floor plan, hipped roof with a small turret, and combination of Empire and Neo-Gothic elements give it a clearly recognisable architectural form. The details invite you to pay attention to the shapes, roof finial and stylistic elements during a walk through the village, rather than perceiving the chapel merely as a single structure. The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk is also part of the cultural character of the village; it is listed among the cultural monuments of the Písek District. The wayside shrine in Lučkovice is protected as a monument.

Farmstead No. 26 holds a special position. It is considered the most important monument of vernacular architecture in Lučkovice and is located on the southern side of the village green. Only two of the row of farmsteads have survived in unaltered condition. The combination of its location on the village green, outstanding significance and preserved condition makes the farmstead particularly interesting for comparison with the other farmsteads. This makes it possible to see in one place how strongly historic buildings can shape the perception of a rural settlement.

Planned Events for Different Interests

The Svatováclavská pouť is planned to take place in Lučkovice on 26 September 2026. The planned programme includes children's workshops, horse riding, a fair and dance events. The fixed date makes it easier to fit the event into a travel itinerary, while the different programme items appeal to several age groups and interests. The event therefore combines several types of experience and appeals both to families with children and to visitors looking for local festival traditions and community events.

The Letní Fusioon Camp is also planned for late August 2026 as a one-week dance camp for children and young people aged 8 to 18. The programme includes street dance, workshops, choreography, dance challenges, an evening programme, a disco and games. Its one-week duration and age range give the camp a clearly defined timeframe and age-related focus. The Kašpárek Family Centre offers meetings for parents and preschool children in Lučkovice. It also organises exercise classes, interest groups, workshops, courses, seminars, discussion groups, lectures and other cultural events. In addition to the planned major events, this means that smaller formats with a variety of focuses are also available in the village.
