Chapels and Local History

Dvory U Lažišť presents its history in several specific places. The chapels and traditional architecture stand alongside a landscape where traces of gold panning have been preserved. During your stay, you can therefore combine cultural and historical details with an exploration of the Blanice, without limiting the local history to a single building.

The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built in Dvory at the beginning of the 20th century. On 21 July 1905, it was consecrated by the Czech-Budweis Bishop Martin Josef Říha. Another trace of contemporary history is the memorial plaque set into the chapel wall on 15 March 1928. On a tour through the local history, the construction date, consecration, and memorial plaque provide three points of reference from different periods. This chronological sequence makes it easier to view the chapel not only as a building, but also as a place with several historical layers.

Monuments and Folk Baroque

The Chapel of St Vojtěch is also part of Dvory's cultural profile. The Slavík family built it by the roadside on the bend toward Lažiště; it was also added to the list of protected monuments. The stone masonry surrounding the chapel and the spring was restored in 2016. The 2016 restoration included not only the building but also the spring. The spring is therefore part of Dvory's local history alongside the architectural monument.

A special addition is the U Hesů farmhouse, house number 11 in Dvory. Its façade in the folk Baroque style was designed by the renowned builder Jakub Bursa. A Gothic portal is also set into the entrance of house number 11; it probably came from Hrádek Castle near Husinec. House number 11 thus combines a folk Baroque façade with a Gothic portal whose origin probably lies at Hrádek Castle near Husinec.

The Blanice, Gold-Panning Spoil Heaps, and Trails

The geological site Řeka Blanice u Dvorů includes very well-preserved gold-panning spoil heaps in the Blanice floodplain, especially between Zábrdí, Dvory, and the Husinec Reservoir. Gold extraction by panning experienced its greatest boom in this area in the 12th and 13th centuries. The floodplain thus preserves traces of historical land use. The location between Zábrdí, Dvory, and the Husinec Reservoir places the spoil heaps within a clear geographical context.

The Řeka Blanice u Dvorů site can be reached via a walkable tourist trail that runs more than 250 metres from the road. Anyone planning to visit this place should therefore allow for a section away from the road. The Krajem Mistra Jana Husa tourist route also passes through Dvory. The two trails therefore represent different aspects of orientation: one leads through Dvory, while the other leads to the site.
