Lipence is a place whose landscape is strongly shaped by water. Most of it lies in the floodplain on the right bank of the Berounka. To the northwest and west, the river forms Lipence’s boundary with Radotín and Černošice. This brings together the river landscape, smaller bodies of water and leisure destinations – an interesting setting for a stay where nature, outdoor activities and special events come together.

The water landscape between the Berounka and Lipenecký Creek

Lipenecký Creek rises in the southern part of Lipence. Its entire course lies within the Prague 5 district, in the Lipence cadastral area. The upper course runs through a wooded area in a natural stream bed. In Lipence’s holiday cottage area, there is also an artificial pond on Lipenecký Creek. These individual bodies of water are clearly different from one another: here, the focus is on the Berounka river landscape; there, on a wooded stream or an artificial pond.

Another focal point is Lipence Lake. For the 2026 bathing season, the lake is listed as a new natural swimming area. Lipence Lake offers the general public a recreational area with a nature park, lake and beach. The operator regularly monitors the water quality and publishes test results as well as practical information about swimming. Those wishing to assess the water-based activities more specifically will therefore find information not only about the landscape, but also about water quality and swimming.

Cycling, golf and unusual experiences

Cycle Route 8100, known as the Prague Loop, runs via Zbraslav and Lipence onward towards Dolní Černošice. It connects Lipence to a cycle route and also makes the area appealing to visitors who want to explore their surroundings by bicycle.

The MK Lipence model aircraft flying site offers a different kind of experience. It is located in Prague near the confluence of the Berounka and Vltava rivers. The site is accessible by car and within reach of public transport. The Lipenecký Obr 2026 programme includes demonstrations by remote-controlled jet fighters, extreme aerobatic pilots, helicopters, historic gliders and model aircraft.

Golf is another option in Lipence. Prague City Golf Zbraslav has a driving range with 18 covered and 30 uncovered tees, practice areas and the Prague City Golf Academy, a training centre for children, teenagers and adults. The facility is located at Oddechová 886, 155 00, Lipence, Prague 5. Families with children will find a playground in the lower part of Lipence on the grounds of Lipenecký statek, operated by the municipal administration.

History and local events

The history of the area dates back to the Middle Ages. Lipany, part of present-day Lipence, was first mentioned in writing in 1115. Lipence was established through the union of the historic settlements of Lipenec and Lipany. Those interested in understanding the area’s development in addition to its landscape and activities will find a clear historical connection here.

Local events add to this picture. The Lipenecký běh takes place once again on its usual route along Českého červeného kříže, Údolí hvězd and Obsiny streets. This means that Lipence can be discovered not only through its waterways and leisure destinations, but also through its streets and recurring local events.
