Myslovice lies in a valley surrounded by wooded hills. The village combines a clearly defined landscape with small cultural and historical discoveries: a chapel classified as a cultural monument stands on the village square, five crosses in the municipal area recall local religious traditions, and a surviving chimney points to the former brickmaking industry. This creates a destination whose special features do not lie in a long list of major sights, but in the traces that can be discovered directly in the village and its surroundings.

Chapel and Features of the Village Landscape

The Chapel of Saint Mary Magdalene was built at the beginning of the 19th century. It stands on the village square along the main road and therefore occupies a clearly defined place in the village landscape. Its classification as a cultural monument makes it an important cultural reference point in Myslovice. When exploring the village, you can therefore see the chapel as a tangible starting point for understanding the history and character of the municipality, without the need for a major attraction.

The visible heritage of the municipal area also includes five crosses. Four of them are made of cast iron and stand on stone pedestals. The fifth is made of wood and depicts Jesus Christ. The different designs are particularly noteworthy: in Myslovice, you will encounter not five identical objects, but several forms of local commemorative culture. For a stay focused on regional history, these crosses offer an additional perspective alongside the chapel.

A Certified Nature Garden with a Current Reservation

Zahrada u malíře holds a special position among the gardens in the surrounding area. It is the first and so far only certified nature garden in the Klatovy area; there are four such gardens in the Plzeňský Region. It is managed without chemical agents, artificial fertilisers or peat.

For your specific planning, the current status is important: in 2026, Zahrada u malíře is temporarily closed to public visits. Parts of the garden are still being reconstructed. The garden therefore cannot currently be assumed to be a regularly accessible programme item. Nevertheless, its certification and distinctive management approach remain defining features of the village profile.

Landscape and Remembrance of the Brickworks

The wooded hills around the valley provide Myslovice with its landscape setting, while the village’s history remains visible in an unusual relic. The chimney of a former brickworks still stands. It symbolically recalls the local production of high-quality bricks, which were produced there mainly by the Kámenova family under the rule of Obytce. As a remnant of former production, the chimney tells of a historical period in the village and complements the religious and protected-monument features with an aspect of economic history.

For further orientation in the wider area, you can also explore Kocourov, Křenice, Měčín, Malý Bor, Dlouhá Ves U Susice, Domoraz, Chudenín and Horská Kvilda.
