Částkov between a fortress, château and nature park

Částkov combines historical traces with a landscape of forests, watercourses and smaller bodies of water. The place is particularly interesting for travellers who want to discover cultural monuments not in isolation, but together with a cycling route and the landscape of Český les Nature Park. Local attractions range from a medieval fortress to Částkov Château and other buildings in Pernolec and Maršovy Chody.

Historical sites and protected buildings

The Church of St Anne in Částkov is protected as an immovable cultural monument under registration number ÚSKP ČR 44334/4-4736. Another historical focal point is the Částkov Fortress on the eastern edge of the village. It was founded above a flat, marshy valley; artificial ponds and ditches formed its outer fortifications. The fortress was built and inhabited from around the 14th century onwards. Today's Částkov Château was shaped by a Renaissance extension adding three rooms and later Baroque alterations. The interiors feature cross vaults, which are a specific architectural detail of the complex. Částkov thus offers several different historical points of interest: a protected church, a fortress with water-related fortifications and a château whose present appearance was shaped by several construction phases. The settlement of Pernolec, which belongs to the municipality of Částkov, also complements the cultural picture. The Church of St Anne Samotřetí and its Stations of the Cross were built there in 1902. An access restriction is important when planning a visit: the church is usually not open to the public and can only be entered during certain events. The fortress in Pernolec has been restored; the property includes a water-filled moat and a stone bridge. The property is permanently inhabited. In Maršovy Chody, there is also the protected rural farmstead e. č. 1 with a statue of St John of Nepomuk. The historical character is therefore spread across several parts of the municipality and is evident in both sacred buildings and fortress, château and farmstead structures.

Forest, water and cycling route

The western part of the cadastral area of Maršovy Chody contains continuous forest within Český les Nature Park. At the same time, the landscape of the municipality of Částkov is criss-crossed by watercourses and smaller bodies of water. This creates a clear contrast in the choice of excursion style between cultural and historical destinations and a nature-oriented setting. Cyclists can include Částkov on cycling route No. 36. It passes through the village along the route Všeruby u Domažlic – Hošťka – Částkov – Tachov – Cheb – Skalná – Měděnec. From Částkov, it continues to Tachov and Cheb.
