Discover Prosec: Planetární stezka, Maštale and Culture

Proseč combines nature-focused discoveries, marked trails and a distinctive cultural history. Here, you can walk through a model of the solar system, explore protected landscapes, compare circular routes and visit museums in historic buildings. This allows you to vary your stay between active excursions and cultural impressions.

The Planetární stezka from the Sun to Voyager I

The Planetární stezka in Proseč and its surroundings depicts the solar system on a scale of 1:1 billion and extends for just under 8 km. It begins at the model of the Sun near the town library in Proseč and ends at Dr. Tošovský Square at the model of the Voyager I space probe. You can complete the route on foot or by bicycle. For planning purposes, it therefore offers a clearly defined route that combines a scientific theme with movement through Proseč and its surroundings.

Hiking on trails of different lengths

If you prefer a longer hike, the Martinická stezka is a 24.7 km circular route. It begins and ends in Proseč, so the starting and finishing point is the same place. The Studánková stezka offers a different type of orientation: it is intended for moderately experienced hikers who are familiar with maps. The different trail lengths and levels of difficulty help you choose an excursion that suits your own plans, without having to connect several starting points.

Maštale and the Pasíčka educational trail

The Maštale nature reserve also includes the cadastral area of Proseč. Proseč is also a natural starting point for the Pasíčka educational trail in the Maštale nature reserve. Those who place landscape and nature observation at the centre of their plans can therefore use the town as a base for exploring a protected area. The character of the excursion is determined by the specific educational trail and the landscape, not by a general description of the region.

Cultural monuments and pipe museums

Proseč itself also offers noteworthy cultural destinations. The Evangelical church is a cultural monument in the Empire style and was built between 1834 and 1838. During the summer months, Evangelical services are held there every Sunday from 9 a.m.; people are welcome regardless of their denomination.

The Muzeum dýmek is located in the listed historic building No. 61. The building includes a log room facing the square. The exhibitions cover the history of the pipe and the history of the town of Proseč. The Muzeum Proseč displays around 400 pipes dating from the second half of the 19th century to the present day. In this way, you can explore local history both through a single historic building and through an extensive collection.

Rocks and minerals on the school grounds

The Kameny v kamenitém kraji educational trail is located on the school grounds and features a collection of 10 rocks and minerals from the area around Proseč. Each station has an information panel about the properties and occurrence of the respective rock or mineral; photographs supplement the explanations. The educational trail was also intended for the general public, offering an illustrative way to learn about the region's geology.
