Hynčina reveals its character in two ways: through historic sacred art and a landscape that can be explored via marked trails. Here you will encounter a church with a Baroque history, a detailed Immaculata statue, and other memorials in the village. At the same time, hiking trails lead through the municipality, while several cycling routes touch its outer edge. The different routes allow you to combine culture and outdoor activity according to your own interests.

Baroque Church and Sacred Art

The Church of St. Stanislav in Hynčina was built in 1725 in the Baroque style, replacing an earlier wooden church. It has been listed as a cultural monument since 1958, but is not accessible. Its comparatively simple older structural core contrasts with a stylistically unified, colorful Neo-Baroque interior. The interior includes stucco decorations and paintings depicting biblical scenes. The church thus provides an illustrative example of how different historical layers of design can be read in a religious building, even though it is not possible to view the interior.

A Baroque statue of the Immaculata stands beside a road on a wooded slope, on the outskirts of Hynčina along the road toward Křižanov. The late Baroque statue retains traces of its polychromy; the year 1776 is inscribed on the back. The sandstone statue is approximately three meters high. Its structure comprises a cylindrical shaft with a Tuscan capital, a four-sided chapel with a pyramidal roof, and an iron cross. A relief of Saint Valentine is located on the pedestal. Carved into the chapel are a relief of the crucified Christ and side depictions of the Virgin Mary and Saint John the Evangelist. After more than 300 years, the monument has survived with comparatively little damage.

Another historic detail is the Trinity group, originally made of stone. It was erected in 1900 at the initiative of the owners of the nearby mill, Rosalie and Johann Wolf. Today, only the pedestal remains; the group of figures is considered lost. A walk through Hynčina therefore includes several small stops where not only fully preserved structures but also traces of lost monuments can be seen.

Hiking and Cycling around Hynčina

A green-marked hiking trail leads from Mohelnice via Hynčina to Hoštejn. In addition, a yellow-marked hiking trail connects the blue and green hiking trails and forms a small loop within the municipality of Hynčina. The trails therefore offer both a longer connection and a shorter circuit. For cycling orientation, routes 521, 4063, 6234, and 6232 are relevant. They touch the outer edge of Hynčina’s administrative area and therefore do not simply run as a single local route through the center.

The western boundary of the municipality is formed by the valley of the Ospirský potok. The stream rises in the Dlouhá Ves area and flows into the Moravská Sázava near Popelák. This watercourse therefore marks not only a landscape area but also a clearly defined municipal boundary. If you plan your stay around cultural sites, hiking trails, and cycling connections, Hynčina offers various starting points for further exploration.
